TOUR DESCRIPTION

The Best of Hawaii is a sightseeing tour around four beautiful Isands of Hawaii – Oahu, Kauai, Maui and the Big Island. You have two weeks to enjoy this exotic country, its nature and beautiful culture.  The transportation between islands is secured by plane and you will have a car available on each island in order to get around and discover all spaectacular spots of this hidden paradise.

Day 1 – Arrival to Waikiki
Welcome at the airport in Honolulu. Today you will have time to discover WAIKIKI (beach, International Marketplace, a statue of Father of surfers, the oldest local hotel Moana). The whole town was built on wetlands. One of the most  most famous canal for drainage is called Ala Wai. We recommend to visit  the extinct crater of Diamond Head with breathtaking views and pleasant bathing. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 – Kauai 
Morning transfer to the airport and flight to Lihue on the island of Kauai, the oldest Hawaiian island. This Island is often called the Garden Isle because of the rich flora. At the airport you will pick up a secured car and start to explore the island. Do not miss the double waterfall Wailua falling to a depth of 53 meters, continue along the northern coast of the island and walk through the forest along the ocean (part Kalalau Trail). Today you can enjoy swimming. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 – Kauai 
You can start your day with exploring the southern part of the island. Visit the canyon WAIMEA (height 900m, length 16 km), which among its green color reminds Arizona Grand Canyon. You will see a statue of Captain Cook, the famous navigator and explorer Hawaii Islands. Incredible treks, walks and a stunning view of the coast Na Pali. You can enjoy a unique fairy-tale landscape. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 4 – Maui
At morning, you return the car at the airport and fly to Kahului on Maui Island . You will pick up a secured car upon your arrival. Maui is the second largest island of the Hawaiian Islands. You will visit the holy National Park IAO VALLEY. You’ll also see a dominant feature of this area, Iao Needle, soaring to a height of 370 meters. This beautiful valley hides a cruel history.  A battle took place in this valley when fighters of the Big Island killed many residents of the island of Maui. You can enjoy swiming and relaxing on beaches along the way. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5 – Hana
Start you day with a trip to the town of Hana on the east side of the island along the spectacular scenic drive. Today you really enjoy the wild ride and the breathtaking nature. You can make many stops along the way at waterfalls, forests, bays and beaches. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6 – Molokini  
Free day for your activities. You can visit a nearby island Molokini  or you can just enjoy the beach . Overnight at hotel.

Day 7 – Haleakala
Even today, you will enjoy driving in beautiful nature.  Travel by car to the top of Haleakala volcano (translated as The House of the Sun). The reward for you is a stunning  view at an altitude of 3,055 meters . If you’re lucky, you might see even a bird Nene (Hawaiian goose), or see another rarity – Silver Sword plant (one of the rarest plants in the world). Overnight at hotel.

Day 8 – Big Island
Getting to the airport in Kahului, where you return the car and catch your flight to the Big Island – the largest island, 10.432 km2 –is also called Hawaii. You will pick up a secured car upon arrival at the airport Kailua-Kona (runway airport was built on a lava), then continue along the beautiful forest path in Hila, with a stop at WAIPI’O Valley State Park Akaka Falls. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9 – Hilo, NP Volcanoes
Today, we recommend to visit the Pacific Tsunami Museum in Hilo, Rainbow Waterfall and National Park Volcanoes (visitor center, active volcano Kilauea caldera, passage of the lava tube, craters, lava fields with two types of lava). The national park was declared in 1916 and was added to UNESCO  list in 1987. The rest of the day is free. Overnight at hotel.

Den 10 – Volcano Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea 
This day is dedicated to exploration of volcanoes. Saddle path between volcanoes Mauna Loa (4,169 m) and Manua Kea (4,205 m) has up to 100 kilometers in diameter. This is the most massive volcano on the world.  Later on, you can visit the national historic park Pu’uhonua o Honaunau, which is important Hawaiian sacred place – a prehistoric village with the mausoleum of 23 Hawaiian kings, surrounded by dozens of wood carved gods. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11 – Oahu 
During the day,  you will return the car at the airport and fly back to the island of Oahu in Honolulu. It is an island with the largest population, an island full of colors, sights and turbulent history. You will pick up a secured car at the airport. Later on you can visit the pineapple plantations of Dole, pass east of the island (views of the rugged wild coastal cliffs, beautiful beaches, waves and surfer), Biodo Temple – Buddhist monastery (it is a copy of the 900-year-old temple in Kyoto, Japan, inside is 3 m tall, gilded statue of Buddha), panoramic view from Nuuanu Pali. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12 – Honolulu
Throughout the morning you will have time to explore downtown Honolulu. Visiting the Cathedral, the Capitol, the statue of King Kamehameha I – the unifier of the Hawaiian Islands, a statue of Queen Lili’uokalani, Iolani Palace – the only royal palace in the United States, significant Polynesian Bishop Museum from 1889, the largest exhibition of art and cultures of the peoples of Polynesia and Oceania, National Memorial Cementery of the Pacific – located in the crater of an extinct volcano. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13 – Honolulu 
Your last day in Paradise. Treat yourself to souvenir shopping, relaxation, swimming. You can visit Pearl Harbor (watch a documentary about the robbery bases Japan in 1941 and further ride by boat to the memorial to the USS Arizona Memorial, which is located directly above the sunken ship. You can also browse the submarine USS Bowfin and various torpedoes). At the evening you will return car at the airport Honolulu and continue your travel based on yor international flight schedule. End of program.
